Launch: i[2]y Volume 2 Is Here With 20 New Tracks To Get Busy Living
   The long-awaited release of I'm Too Young For This! Volume 2 features 20 original tracks composed by a brand new community of young adult recording artists who have been directly affected by cancer, either through their own personal diagnosis or that of a loved one. This album is toned to specifically address the darker realities of cancer survival in the young adult population and three of the musicians – Katie Reider, Jeannie Kauffmann and Michael Minton – are being recognized and memorialized posthumously. The Stupid Cancer Show Is Entering It's 5th And Most Stickpoking Season Yet
   The Stupid Cancer Show is the voice of young adults affected by cancer. Now entering it's 5th season this September, we're proud to announce that we've garnered over 18,000 listeners after over 100 broadcasts and the hits just keep on coming. Every Monday night, the show is streamed live into cancer centers worldwide for inpatients to participate and we're getting incredible feedback from all over the globe. The Sexual Self of Young Adult Survivors
   Sage Bolte, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C, an oncology counselor at Life With Cancer, a program of Inova Health System in VA, is a leading oncology sexpert for young adults – and she's working on some killer YA research re: the sexual self and overall quality of life. Her important survey is for survivors between 18-40 diagnosed between 2-5 years ago. [link]

   Got cancer? Single? Even with siblings, family and friends, can anyone else really ever understand what it's like to be single with cancer? i[2]y is working with Imerman Angels to better understand and serve the "singles with cancer" community.    Our fabulous friends and fellow young adult advocates over at Cancer and Careers are kicking off a groundbreaking new research phase of their plan better understand the needs of the young adult cancer community – specifically as it pertains to the overall crapness of employment, dealing with workplace-related cancer nonsense and related occupational and lifestyle challenges. Cancer Summit For Young Adults, the Barenaked Ladies returned to their usual fabulousness and announced a relaunch of their entire website, which now *proudly* lists i[2]y as one of their featured charitable organizations! MTV's True Life Wants i[2]y'ers!
   MTV's 'True Life' is seeking young adults ages 16-30 for an upcoming episode entitled "I'm Having Major Surgery". If you are having non-elective surgery (i.e. resection, transplants, reconstruction, etc..) and want to submit your story for consideration, email Jennifer Piston with your name, age, location, photo and brief description of your story. CollegeFest 2009 Is Teh Awesome

Facebook? Never Heard Of It.
   Facebook has been good to i[2]y. Our cause has raised almost $7,000 and membership just surpassed 18,000 supporters! We now have 35 regional groups including five newly launched online chapters in: Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Buffalo, NY and the New York Southern Tier.    Mashable – the world's largest blog focused exclusively on Web 2.0 and Social Media news – recently profiled i[2]y as 'unique social find' as part of their 2009 'Summer of Social Good' campaign. Our organization was selected because we embodied the theme of "Finding The Good" and were "armed with a great attitude." Score! [link]

   twibbon.com is the easiest way to promote awareness of i[2]y (or any cause) on Twitter by overlaying an image on top of your existing profile picture. Confusing? Sort of but not really.    OTTOWA, CA – As part of this conference's many unique breakout sessions, Matthew will be speaking with leaders from around globe in a panel entitled "Forgotten Tribe 1" with his highly-praised presentation "Stupid Cancer: Curing The Twitter Generation", which is about meeting the unique needs and complex barriers plaguing adolescents and young adults with cancer in an everchanging public health landscape. 09/29/09 – ASCO/COG Symposium
   Dallas, TX – A landmark conference between the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Children's Oncology Group (COG) to focus on core 21st Century challenges in pediatric oncology drug development and trial design. Matthew was invited to contribute to a panel discussion regarding the patient's perspective, particularly those old enough and mature enough to make informed decisions. [link]
