ART OF SURVIVORSHIP COALITION

Stupid Cancer Happy Hour

"Your life is a work of art: unique, expressive and capable of taking you places that you could never imagine. Cancer doesn't change that. Its gift is a blank canvas—and the art of survivorship is all about how you choose to get busy living."

Got cancer? Under 40? Musician? Artist? Photographer? Dancer? Writer? Comedian? Poet? Author? Sculptor? Painter?

We want to know you!

The i[2]y Art of Survivorship Coalition is an organic, grass-roots arts community of like-minded young adult cultural creatives from around the planet who got busy living when faced with the challenges of cancer, either through their own diagnosis or that of a loved one. Reflecting diversity in creativity, method and influence, the coalition demonstrates that no one is really alone in their battle with cancer and everyone has the power to get busy living. In embodying the human factor of the cancer experience, coalition members subscribe to the beliefs that:
  • personal expression and communication through music and the arts are spiritually central to living a balanced and fulfilled life and can be a transformative force through all stages of illness.

  • everyone has the power get busy living by staying connected to the things that have meaning in their lives and by choosing to express themselves, share their stories and celebrate the art of their survivorship.
