YOUNG ADULT LEADERSHIP CABINET (YALC)

The i[2]y Young Adult Leadership Cabinet (YALC) is an elected national volunteer board of young adult survivors, co-survivors and activists who serve as a governing body that oversees the actions of the Stupid Cancer Task Force. The YALC answers directly to CEO Matthew Zachary and the i[2]y Board of Directors and is primarily chartered with developing, overseeing and orchestrating grassroots activity, social event planning, community development, fundraising, public awareness and peer support connections.

Like members of our task force, YALC members are not just looking for ribbons and rhetoric, but true action to change the way we think about cancer in our own generation; a generation that has been lost in a gap and ignored by the system; a generation that is pissed off; a generation that does not benefit from the efforts (support, research, early detection and prevention) of the big box cancer organizations who are saving lives for boomers and seniors but not for us.

Members, candidates and applicants make a personal commitment to the 'stupid cancer movement' and take advantage of exclusive opportunities (street teams, guerilla tactics, grass roots mobilizing) to ensure our voice will be heard and change will come.
